Go down to your local hardware store and get a small drain auger.
I had the same problem, but now every time it gets slow I just twist the auger down through the drain, it clears out, and all is well again.
Just be sure to take care of the auger, I lay mine out and give it a quick spray of wd-40 after each use. If it gets rusty, don't use it. They break if rusty (yeh, learned from experience, and you're up a creek without a paddle when one breaks down inside a drain, luckily mine broke near the top and I was able to fish it out).
