Deep Breathing is a good way to help headaches. Sit or lay down and try to relax. Put your hands on your abdomen--a couple of inches below your naval. Breath down into your abdomen, feeling your hands rise a little -as your tummy rises--then,as you exhale slowly, feel your abdomen go in. Say a phrase to yourself--such as "good" in---"pain" out--with each slow breath. Visualize the pain leaving your head. I use this for sleep--with "sleep" in and "relax" on the out breath.

Taking a rest is one alternative. It is not advisable to take medicine every time you have a headache. It's best to consult a doctor especially if the headache continues.

This isn't holistic, but my wife relies on bc powder and a pepsi :) That's probably not to good for your stomach either!
I like a cold pack on my head, and sometimes over my eyes.
Maybe some others will have more holistic answers though.

I have consulted my Doctor and he prescribed me medications that I do not want to take. I think there is probably another approach I would like to try, tramedol is not the cure all. I personally do not like to take medications which is why I am looking for an alternative approach. Unfortunately I work so rest isnt always an option. Thanks for your comments.
