Will senate bill SB-2099 require we list our guns on our 1040 2009 Tax return?

Previous Answer "There was a bill SB-2099 introduced in 2000 that had the goal of requiring hand gun owners to register their guns. It has languished in committee and has never been even close to being voted on."
This is true, but I wonder why would it even be kept in committee from year to year unless it believed a more favorable time will come to vote on it, that is when it could have more support from the public. Why not just throw it out at the end of the year it was introduced, if the committee won’t send it to the floor for a vote?

There are emails going around saying this, but they are not true. Many of the emails related to this have other false details as well.
