Spokeo.com ..is this a scam or should we go in and remove our info?

Chris said it all… It looks like a search engine but a modified and specified one. I just wonder how would they get information from people and if it is really real.

Welcome to CK :)
Spokeo collects publicly available information and presents it along with a lot of guesswork based on neighborhood data.
Most of the info on the site, other than name, address, and phone number, is unreliable. Basically what is there is the same info someone would find in any whitepages listing of you. They do mine other public records though (real estate listings, mailing lists, etc).
There are quite a few sites that aggregate this information though, so even if you did request removal from Spokeo (and people that have tried that say it didn’t work – and in the process you end up giving them your email address, not good), that does not remove you from all the other sites that are using the same name/address databases.
It is disturbing though. But I don’t think there is much you can do about it, other than being careful about who you give information to. All the information they show is publically available by other means, they just put it all together in one place.
