2001 GMC Chevy Tracker, 2-4/hi-low trans, 6-cyl. Four Wheel Drive isn’t working. Only the rear driver-side wheel turns on a base of snow. (In effect, it’s a one-wheel-drive vehicle!) On a hoist while running in gear, the front drive shaft turns, but the front differential isn’t sending power to the front wheels. When touched, the differential gives off no vibration. The vacuum switch on the firewall was bypassed with no effect. Is there any other switch or fuse that may be involved? Is there any easy way to determine if the differential is the problem? What is involved in working on the differential? Is it a big job? Could it be the electrical connections? If so, where are they?
