What should be on a resume besides name, address, job history?
Answer #2
Your resume should contain many things. Depending on how long you've been in the work force you should have a statement at the top that gives your future employer an "objective" or a "summary." Objectives tell the employer what you're looking for in a career. Summary's are just that. A short summary of your achievements at past jobs and any skills you have that you think the employer might think is a good fit for the job you're applying for.
After that you should list your jobs (most recent first) and give a list of responsibilities. Don't list EVERYTHING you did at the company. Highlight the things you think might apply to the new job you're trying to get and make sure to "brag" about any extra projects you took on or promotions you received.

One of the first things alot of employers look for is an objective. An objective is a statement of exactly what you're looking for in your job search and where you see yourself in the workplace. You should definitely include any college or other types of training and certifications that you've received. Also, do you have any special skills, i.e. languages, CPR, etc. that may be helpful to an employer. You don't have to list personal or work references, but it's always good to put a comment at the end "References available on request". Be sure to have them typed and ready to present should they ask however. Rework your resume until you have described your work history as clearly and concisely as possible. Employers like people who can get to the point and say what they mean! Good luck in your job search!
