Does anyone know how long eggs might be good after a "best by" date shown on the carton? Is a month after the date too long to use them?

The "best buy" date is not the date when the eggs will go bad, it is the date, if they are kept well refrigerated, they will keep their Grade A quality to. Any eggs cooked after that date should be well cooked before eating. A month is pushing the limit, but if they were kept refrigerated they might still be good although they may have lost some of their flavor. If it were me, I don’t think I would chance it.

OK thanks–I just hate to throw out food that might be ok–but you’re right–I would feel "chancey" eating them!
