Review Dr. Scholl’s footmapping thing? Has anyone here tried it, and gotten the ($50!) inserts?

Did they work well for you? Seems pricey, but I guess it would be worth it if it relieves foot pain.

It says I have normal arches, high heel and toe pressure.

I got on one about a week before I went to a podiatrist. It said basically the same thing that the podiatrist did. That I had high arches and high toe/heel pressure.

However, the podiatrist was able to go further and watch the way I walk and see that my high arches were collapsing due to the way I walk.

She provided an insert to support the arch, but is also going to work on the way I walk and teach me how to tape it up when I work out (barefoot – martial arts). I don’t know if the insert she gave me would have matched the one that the Dr Scholl’s footmapping machine would have suggested. Was about the same price.

However, the trip to the podiatrist set me back about $200 in all. I think it was worth it because she gave me a lot more information. I would think the footmapping might be good for tired feet or just general support. But if you are really having foot – pain – see a doctor. You will get better results.
