What should I try feeding my six year old daughter who's getting over a stomach virus? She couldn't even keep down chicken broth yesterday and is now hungry.
Answer #2
I agree with Sally, starting slow with ice chips, apple juice, maybe even a little sprite/7-up.
But what my daughter always asks for, and it seems to be good, is egg drop soup from our favorite chinese restaurant.

I’ve always been told to feed the BRAT diet when kids have upset stomachs. This consists of Bananas, Rice, Applesauce & dry Toast. Lots of clear liquids as well.

After a stomach virus with vomiting like that, I would suggest that fluids would be the most important thing.
Sucking on some ice chips to start, then maybe a little apple juice or pedialyte if she will drink it (my 6 year old won't).
Then moving on to something easy like a cracker or two, and if that goes well, soups and a little more solids.
It's hard when they start feeling better and are famished, but you know they need to take it easy at first.
