My mnv 2 is saying use genuine battery an i want to know what that means
Answer #2
That means use a factory made battery.
but im going to show you how you can fix that.
i had the same problem and im 15 so i need my phone. i use it all the time.
that means either your phone has water damage or your battery does. i had the same problem but i got it fixed. i know this doesnt sound like it will work but it worked for me and it really shocked me!!
IF ITS THE BATTERY!
1.check the small dot on your battery at the bottom to see if its red. if its red its means water damage.( but you can fix that)
2.get a small peice of WHITE paper to fit over that circle and put the battery back on.( make sure the WHITE paper covers the circle and stays over it when you put the battery on.)( if you use any other color besides white it wont work)
3.turn your phone on. if your phone still has that message you might need a new phone.
i hope this worked for you like it did for me.(:

I know the red dot is an indication of moisture, but I don’t understand how making the indicator white would make a difference. If it’s been wet and something is corroded, that won’t fix it.

Hi CorbenAnthony,
The company that makes the cell phone battery will often say, in the manual, that you should use a genuine (name of some company) battery.
That just means they want you to buy the next cell phone battery from them, so they make the money on that purchase too.
There are benefits to buying the 'genuine' version. You know that it's up to their specs and if you have any warranty issues you can demonstrate that you followed their instructions. Using a third party battery will certainly void the warranty.
Batteries from other companies will sometimes be less expensive, and they usually work well. If you go this route, make sure the battery is from a reputable company and understand that it will affect, and probably void, the warranty if your phone is still under one.
