Can someone please explain the appropriate usage for ‘led’ & ‘lead’ – excluding the LED/diode definition & ‘lead’ like lead in a pencil – thank you

You would use led in a sentence like this; I was led to a house.
You would use lead in a sentence like this; I will lead you to the house.
Led means some one is leading you.
When you are leading then some one is following you.
